The discovery of radium was heralded as a miracle with all sorts of applications, from health tonic and cancer cure to use for glow in the dark paint for instruments in the trenches of WWII and watch faces. This highly skilled factory work was highly sought by young women who pointed the very fine brushes between their lips. Then some of the girls began to die lingering, painful deaths and questions arose which industry leaders didn’t want answered. Radium Girls is a fast-paced, humorous, suspenseful and poignant look at the legal battle of one woman to see justice done for herself and her dead friends.
