Below is the list of 12 titles in consideration for the 2026-2027 season that will be presented at the annual playreading marathon on February 7th, 2026.
About the playreading process
The Burlington Players gathers input from the membership for shows to consider for the season.
Members from the community can submit shows for consideration through solicitation. In parallel, directors provide written pitches for shows they think would be a good fit for our space and audience that they would like to direct.
The Play Reading Committee (PRC) narrows down the list to 12 proposed titles that they believe would be a good mix of shows for consideration. The 12 titles are presented at an open meeting and approved prior to be presented at the annual play reading marathon.
About the Play Reading Marathon (February 7th, 2026, 12pm)
The Burlington Players gather annually to vote on shows for the season in this unique, membership-driven process.
The Burlington Players Play Reading Committee will present the 12 shows in consideration for our 2026-2027 season. Presentations include staged readings of script excerpts, Q&A and finally a vote by membership for the top shows they think the organization should do. It's a wonderful and fun engaging event that we encourage the community to attend to be part of the process!
Presentations are timed. We do two rounds of rank voting and then hope to wrap up by 4pm.
Even if you are not a voting member, we hope you would consider joining us to be part of the discussion and fun!
Who can participate?
We encourage anyone in the community to attend to hear what's going on and share your thoughts. Voting members will be part of the process to move the titles through the process.
